DFW Couriers: LBJ Express Update

As Dallas couriers, it’s not surprising that we literally drive all over this grand Metroplex. From sun-up to sun-up (yes, we make 24 hour deliveries in Dallas), we are out and about. With every day that passes, our couriers are grateful to those who keep our highways and roads primed for driving. Without them, we would be toast!
Just who are those people? Well, they are the people who allow our 24 hour couriers Dallas to make those deliveries on time, without a hitch. They are the engineers, designers, concrete pourers, wall builders, rebar craftsmen, traffic analysts, traffic reporters, etc. You get the idea – there are tons of people who update and maintain our road system in Dallas.
If you read our blog often, then you know that we like to keep up to date with all things Dallas. That means we better stay on top of the road developments. Enter LBJ Express.
We did an update about the LBJ Express in May of 2011, so it’s high time we circle back to it.
Do you drive on 635 very often? If you’re like most people in Dallas, you have recently starting avoiding it like the plague. I myself was actually on it yesterday, and let me say, it was not nearly as bad as I expected. For all the (organized) craziness of construction, I thought my journey was really quite smooth. Sure it wasn’t 5 o’clock traffic, but it was smooth nonetheless. If you pay attention, the temporary neon signs can give you information before you get into the thick of it. And if that doesn’t work for you, check the LBJ Express Facebook page before you leave the house. Our couriers DFW certainly do!
If you have avoided 635 like many have (and even developers warned), then you likely don’t know all that’s gone down. And it is a lot! Here is what I noticed yesterday:
- Walls. There are new walls lining what will become LBJ Express. They are very nice and have a modern design to them. Not crazy about the fleshy color, but that’s just a personal opinion.
- Giant Holes. They aren’t really holes, but that’s the only word I can think of at the moment – you can see where the crews are carving out the new roadway. It is exciting!
- Rebar 101. Driving along the highway, you will notice rolls upon rolls of rebar. Hello, concrete party!
- Columns. The bridge columns are up, I noticed the first ones near the Hillcrest exit. These are going to streamline LBJ – never thought I’d say that.
- Marked Trees. When you are exiting the Tollway to head East on LBJ, the trees lining the curve all have been marked with a bright green ‘x.’ I’m to expert, but I imagine these trees are to be cut down.
Make way for new things in 2012 – counting down with our couriers DFW to 2015!
