Last week we celebrated a day devoted to one of the greatest leaders in American History. Martin Luther King Jr. Day is celebrated on the third Monday in January every year. This usually falls around Dr. King’s actual birthday, January 15th. Of course, on this day, we aren’t just remembering the birth of the great MLK, we’re remembering his legacy. It is because of Dr. King’s tireless efforts for equality in our nation that we mark a special day to commemorate him each January. While many of us learned about the life of Dr. King during our school days, there are quite a few little-known facts about Dr. King that our Dallas Scheduled Route Couriers think are worth mentioning.

Last week I had some travel I had to do for business. It required me to be in Phoenix, Arizona for exactly 24 hours. That meant I had to work fast. Like, Dallas STAT Delivery fast! Unfortunately, it happened to turn into the most stressful 24 hours of my life outside of labor. (‘Aint nothing like labor!) It began with a disastrous trip out of Dallas, thanks mostly to our Commander in Chief who also was trying to leave Dallas at the time. Apparently the President’s flight is a little more important than mine. The city of Dallas did not want a repeat of November 22, 1963, so they blocked off all roads heading to the airport, as well as the Tollway. Also, since he wasn’t exactly flying Southwest, they shut down the airport.
I’m a glutton for punishment. I love to mow the lawn. We have a push mower and I like to think of it as exercise, because that’s what it is! Mowing actually burns close to 200 calories every 30 minutes- if you’re using the push-type. While mowing is excellent exercise, and it’s necessary to keep our yards looking nice and neat, mowing can also be incredibly dangerous.
