Today is national rubber ducky day. I know what you’re thinking. Such a day is not worthy of its own Scheduled Route Couriers Dallas blog. You are wrong, my friend. The rubber ducky is a toy rich in history, and it even has its own place in the National Toy Hall of Fame. It has withstood the tests of time to include near drowning in bubble baths and the jaws of dogs everywhere, but it has lived to squeak about it.
This might not be a presidential election year, but that doesn’t mean you’re off the hook, North Texans. Like clockwork, or like our Scheduled Route Deliveries Dallas drivers making their rounds, Election Day comes once a year on the Tuesday following the first Monday in November. This November 4th, you’ll be asked to head to the voting booths and mark your ballot for our next Governor of Texas, among other important titles.
There’s a new sheriff in town. Well, sort of new. He’s only a year old, but the new, improved Big Tex is back, and he has some fresh moves to show for his time off.
As most of our Dallas Scheduled Route Couriers remember, Big Tex suffered a burn injury in 2012 that pretty much ended his original body. But he took the year to regroup. He made his big debut last year, and when we say “big”, we mean BIG. Big Tex grew three feet and gained 19,000 pounds (talk about a growth spurt, must have been all those turkey legs), bringing his height to 55 feet tall. Bigger and better than ever, we thought Big Tex couldn’t be greater, but this year, he is.
Thirty days hath September, April, June, and November. All the rest have thirty-one…except for February.
February always gets the short end of the stick, doesn’t it? Even on leap years, when it gets one extra day, it still doesn’t measure up to a month like January, or even a measly April! In fact, February for this year is nearly over, and it’s only just begun. Since it’s so easy to breeze by this month, our Dallas Route Deliveries friends have decided to dedicate their entire blog entry to the month of February and all of its greatness.
