Christmas is coming, the goose is getting fat, please put a penny in the old man's hat... if you haven't got a penny, a ha'penny will do... if you haven't got a ha'penny, then God bless you!
Thanksgiving day is literally right around the corner - as in Thursday. If you have not started the planning process, you might want to jump on that - NOW!
Waiting until the last minute to plan for Thanksgiving can be very dangerous. One year, I played the waiting game and on Wednesday night I was rushing from store to store trying to find canned pumpkin and cream cheese. That's right, items go out of stock the night before Thanksgiving, and once they are gone, they are gone. That evening, I had to treck to four stores to find the ingredients I needed. A lot of heartache and anxiety later, I finally found what I needed. As a note, I was making 3 cheesecakes. That is a lot of cream cheese.
Are you an ostrich? Yes, the large, flightless bird that roams the plains of Africa and who's feathers are often seen on the end of feather dusters (you're welcome for the random factoid). You're not an ostrich are you? You'll know if you are by the next statement: It's election season.
If you did not know that it is officially election season, then you are absolutely, positively an ostrich. If you are an ostrich, pull your head out of the sand and look around you. Take in the fresh air and the latest news. For those of you who have not had their heads in the sand, then you are fully aware that the 2012 Presidential Election is in full swing. We will all be (hopefully everyone!) gathering on November 6, 2012 to cast our vote. And while we are all out voting, I want us to each be reminded of the sacredness of the Presidential election. It is a freedom that so many around the world do not have the freedom to exercise.
In the year of 1492 when Columbus sailed the ocean blue...
Today we are celebrating that fateful journey from the shores of Portugal to the "New World" by Christopher Columbus. Columbus landed in the New World officially on October 12, 1492. That's more than 500 years ago - hard to believe! Well, honestly, 500 years doesn't seem that long in the grand scheme of things. That means that in a short 500 years we have America as a free democratic nation, railroads across the U.S., planes, cars and iPhones. It's pretty amazing what can be accomplished in 500 years.
In working for courier services Dallas, I literally see it all. I see clients who use us once a month to clients who use our delivery services DFW 15 times per day. I also hear a lot of questions circulate around our home office from customers - when should I set up an account, how many times can I call per day for deliveries, should I set up a route delivery?
The one I plan on focusing on today is the last question - should I set up a route delivery.
