"Dallas Invents New Way to Lose... Third Down Struggles De-Rail Cowboys... Despite other problems, Scandrick anddefense failed with game on the line... Witten Becomes Cowboys' All-Time Receptions Leader... Who’s to blame for the problems: Romo, Jason Garrett, Jerry Jones?... Jerry Jones just pounded locker room door because no one would let him in. It's the angriest Ive seen him all year. ... I have never seen an episode of The Walking Dead. Unless you count the 8 Dallas Cowboys games Ive subjected myself to...
Unfortunately, that is only a small sampling of the tweets I saw this morning related to the Dallas Cowboys and their rather embarassing loss yesterday. Dallas Courier is a little down today, admittedly. As courier services Dallas, we watch all Dallas sports. Our Rangers fizzled out after giving up a sizable lead at the end of the season. Our Dallas Stars aren't playing due to all of those player-manager-team fights. And our Dallas Cowboys are losing, a lot.
Needless to say, we aren't too happy. We certainly miss the glory days of Troy Aikman, Roger Staubach and Emmitt Smith. Now, we don't play football and we are certainly not experts, so you can take this blog post with a grain of salt. But we do love our Dallas sports teams, and we like to see them win. So our on demand delivery services Dallas team figured it was high time to give their opinion on what it will take for the Cowboys to start winning. And please remember, this is an opinion piece. Feel free to disagree. From our same day delivery services Dallas team, here is what needs to happen to win:
- Leadership. Like I warned, this is an opinion piece - feel free to look away now if the next sentence makes you angry! Jerry Jones needs to go. Leadership matters, on and off the field. Jerry has had plenty of years to prove he can make a winning team, but it just has not happened. Jerry gets big name players, but does not make a cohesive team of players. And apparently, that is what is needed on the field (ya think?!). So, in our humble opinion, we need a new owner and general manager. Of course, I realize this is not likely happening any time soon. But let's be honest, Jerry, you get booed at your home stadium whenever your face is shown on the giant, huge, monstrous big screen. That does not bode well for you...
- Romo. Now, I know a lot of people love Romo. I am not one of those people. I think Romo needs a little more leadership and action on the field. Please stop throwing interceptions. And I believe your offensive line needs to step it up, but let's not blame everyone on them. Overthrows, fumbles and sacks are becoming far too common.
- More Wittens. If you were reading those tweets I put at the beginning of the post carefully, then you noticed that Jason Witten became the Dallas Cowboys' all time receptions leader. Witten made seven catches on Sunday night, propelling him past Michael Irvin's previous record of 750 receptions as a Cowboy. Witten now has 754. So, if you ask me, we need more Jason Wittens on the field. We need a Witten-style player in every position. That would definitely create an increase in the win column (which currently is at a 3-5 win/loss record. Yes, you read that correctly, that is 5 wins).
- Start scoring. This seems obvious, but we can't get it done. It is, after all, the point of football. Get in the end zone. The Cowboys are the third ranked passing team, but we are 23rd in scoring. That certainly keeps us out of the win column.
Despite the horrific numbers and devastating losses, we will continue supporting our Cowboys. But, please, Cowboys, step it up and take us into the win column!
