The Critical Nature of Final Mile Deliveries in Dallas

There is much that goes into making a successful delivery. And it starts all the way at the beginning and goes all the way to the end. Let’s take a pallet of paint as our example. First, long before the pain goes onto a pallet to make it to its final destination, it first must become a can of paint. That means long before it reaches the logistics portion of its process, it is an idea, it is manufactured, it is packaged, it is purchased, it is packaged for delivery, it is picked up, it is enroute, and finally it is actually delivered to its final recipient. The final mile, the final push, is a critical component of the logistics process and the life of the product. Without an excellent final mile, nothing prior even matters!

That’s where we come in – final mile deliveries in Dallas, Fort Worth, throughout North Texas and even beyond. We are the last leg of the race for many, many clients, and they trust us to get their items across the finish line on time, safely, securely and professionally.

Final Mile Deliveries Dallas

The name of the final mile game is precision from pick-up to drop-off and everything in between.

The final mile is often a customer’s first interaction with a brand, and that’s why the point person on a delivery matters. That person better be:

·         An excellent representation of your brand image

·         On time

·         Professionally uniformed

·         Prepared to receive delivery recipient signatures

·         Friendly, courteous and helpful

·         Provide the utmost care for the item/s being delivered

·         Well-trained to troubleshoot on the fly if needed

If the above checkpoints aren’t achieved, your final mile delivery is in jeopardy. If you can’t guarantee that the above points are being met with excellence, it’s high time you switch providers. I often say, if the only piece of the final mile pie you consider is price, you’re going to be disappointed. You must consider all that final mile deliveries entail – from driver impressions to safety of the delivery (especially if the delivery requires refrigeration/temperature control!).

Let me give a personal example. I ordered a quite expensive outdoor grill. The brand is well-respected, the product is the highest caliber and yet, the final mile portion of their delivery process was a complete and total mess. It left a horrible taste in my customer mouth, enough so that it required feedback on my end. It went like this: I got a text that my grill was being delivered that day. Good communication on that! I got another text that the very expensive grill had been delivered. I thought it strange that there was no alert on my doorbell, I assumed it would need a signature due to the high price point. I drove home to get the item indoors to avoid theft from my porch. As I pulled into my driveway, I noticed the brand new grill had been delivered in my alleyway… next to my trash can… and it was actually bulk trash pickup day! My friends, this is no lie. This is a true story of a completely botched final mile delivery. It made the grill company look horrendous… and it was all due to their poor choice in final delivery provider.

Let this be a warning to you! Customers care about the final mile delivery. It is your engagement with them. It says something about your brand, so make sure it says all the right things. If your current provider isn’t representing you with excellence, call Dallas Courier today and let us who you what a true partner in final mile deliveries in DFW can be!
